Robert J. (Bob) Ciapciak’s career at Edward Jones began in 1982, when he started working part time in Branch Administration. After earning his MBA later that year, he began working full-time in Academic Training. Over the next four years, Ciapciak streamlined the firm’s training process for financial advisor licensing, helped increase the firm’s pass rate and became involved in designing the New York Stock Exchange licensing exam.
From 1986 to 1987, Ciapciak worked on a number of special projects in Branch Administration. In 1988, he assumed responsibility for Marketing Research and, shortly thereafter, was named a principal. In his capacity as director of Marketing Research and Planning, he oversaw client research; managed the Customer Retention Marketing department; developed, distributed and evaluated financial advisor business plans; and worked closely with Information Systems to prioritize marketing enhancements to the firm’s computer system. In 1996, Ciapciak was named to a newly created position to work closely with the firm’s managing partner, John W. Bachmann. In January 2004, he continued that role with Douglas E. Hill, and in January 2006 with Jim Weddle. Ciapciak continues in the role today.
Ciapciak was named a trustee of the Securities Industry Association’s Securities Industry Institute after graduating from the program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is past chairman of the Arts and Education Council of Greater St. Louis, the St. Louis area chapter of the American Red Cross, the St. Louis Sports Commission, Old Newsboys Day and Fair Saint Louis.
A graduate of St. Louis University, Ciapciak has a bachelor’s degree in political science and an MBA.
